RULES & REGULATIONS OF PET IMPORT & EXPORT TO SINGAPORE

It is relatively easy but costly & all animals will be Quarantine for a period of 4 weeks upon arrival. Dogs & cats from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom & Ireland are Exempted from Quarantine. From Sept 2004, All Imported Dogs & Cats must be identified with an ISO Microchip. Dogs / Cats without or with unreadable Microchips may be deported or detained for any necessary action. Like humans, Animals need a visa to travel in & out of country. It is very hard for some breed to get used to the climate. Check the Rules & regulations of Pet Ownerships to know before you import / export an animal.

Clearance Procedures
When Your Pet Arrives In Singapore

As Excess Baggage :

As "access baggage" on the same flight with you, you must notify the airline's lost and found counter of your arrival. Once you are through immigration report to the airline's lost and found counter and supply their staff with a copy of the import permit (usually provided by your pet importer). Never hand any original documents to the staff there! You have to fill in and sign a "handover form" provided by the counter and then proceed to the arrival hall to meet your pet importer and give him the original Health Certificate and Vaccination Card for further clearance of your pet. Proceed on to collect your baggage and meet our assigned staff who will be carrying a placard with your name on it after clearing the Customs Hall. Hand all original documents to our staff and he will proceed on with the necessary clearance.

As Cargo :

You need to consign the pet/cargo to the pet mover's address, whom you have given details of the flight such as date and time of arrival, flight number and airway bill number. The shipment must be accompanied by the original documents as stated above.

By Road :
Owners who wish to import their pets to
Singapore by road from Malaysia is strongly advised to use the Tuas Checkpoint. Upon arrival at the checkpoint, follow the lorry lane which will lead you to the cargo terminal. The AVA inspection office is at building A4. Our appointed staff will be there with the AVA Officer waiting for you. Hand all original documents to our staff and he will proceed on with the clearance. Please ensure that your pets are in the traveling crate while traveling.

Clearance Operating Time

If your pet arrives outside the operating hours (below) of the CMPQ the pet remains in its cage and cannot be claimed from the airline. Note that the pet is confined to the cage until the next working day and that operating services close sharp. Food and water would be given to the your pet only if a pet mover is involved in importing the animal.
